What's in the box: 1x high frequency machine, 1x high frequency probe, 1x mushroom electrode (orange), 1x teardrop electrode (orange) and 1x sparking electrode (orange).

High frequency machines use electrical currents to stimulate the skin cells and boost blood circulation. They can help with various skin concerns ranging from general dehydration, dull and sallow skin, deteriorating skin tone, low or lack of lipids to stressed skin. There are very few instances where high frequency will not be a beneficial option for the client.

Two different methods of high frequency can be applied:

·         Direct High Frequency: This refers to an application method that involves contact between the electrode and the area being treated. Three different methods of direct high frequency can be applied – direct high frequency over a medium, direct high frequency over gauze and sparking. Direct high frequency is warming and stimulating.

·         Indirect High Frequency (Viennese Massage): This refers to an application method where the client holds the indirect electrode to create the electrical connection and the therapist’s hands become the electrode on the skin. Indirect high frequency is warming and soothing.

High frequency electrodes are the parts of the high frequency machine that emit the electrical current. They are made of glass and come in different shapes and sizes, depending on the area of the skin you want to treat. The most common types of high frequency electrodes are:

·         Teardrop: This is a curved-shaped electrode that is suitable for small areas of the face, such as the nose, mouth, and eyes. It can help with acne, blackheads, and fine lines.

·         Mushroom: This is a round-shaped electrode that is suitable for large areas of the face, such as the forehead, cheeks, and chin. It can help with general skin rejuvenation and anti-aging.

·         Sparking: This is an angled electrode with a small narrow tip that is suitable for precise sparking and sterilization of pimples.

·         Hoof: This is a y-shaped electrode that is suitable for shoulder, neck and back treatments.

·         Comb: This is a comb-shaped electrode that is suitable for the scalp and hair. It can help with hair growth and scalp health.

·         Indirect: This is a straight rod which is held in the client’s hand and is used for the indirect method of high frequency (Viennese massage). It is suitable for mature skin, dehydrated skin and enhancing product penetration.

·         Roller: This is an electrode with a cylindrical rolling head that is suitable for areas that require larger passes.

High frequency gases are the gases that are produced by the electrical current inside the glass electrode. They have different colours and properties, which can affect their performance and results. The most common types of high frequency gases are:

·         Neon gas: This is an orange-coloured gas that has a warming effect on the skin. It can help with blood circulation, cell renewal and product penetration. It is suitable for dry or mature skin types.

·         Argon gas: This is a purple-coloured gas that has a cooling effect on the skin. It can help with inflammation and bacteria. It is suitable for oily or acne-prone skin types.
